Safeguarding Our Communities

Swarm Help

Ensuring safety for both people and bees

Bee swarms in your area can be surprising, but they're a natural part of bee life, often signaling bees seeking a new home. While our organization doesn't directly handle swarm relocations, we're proud to connect you with skilled club members who do. These experienced beekeepers offer prompt, humane relocation services, ensuring the safety of both our community and the bees.

They employ safe, bee-friendly methods to carefully move the swarm, reducing stress on the bees and risk to people. Rely on the expertise within our beekeeping community to address your bee swarm situations with care, safeguarding these essential pollinators and our neighborhoods.

Do you have honeybees occupying an unwanted location?

During the months of March to July, swarms of honeybees may appear as a cluster of bees outside their home, often on a tree or bush. These bees are searching for a new place to call home, which could potentially be in a location that is inconvenient for humans, such as a garage or attic.

If you come across a swarm, please consider reaching out to one of the beekeepers in your local area, listed below. Swarms represent free bees to beekeepers, and they would be interested in capturing them. Please be prepared to answer the questions below when you call and choose a beekeeper in your general area.

If the swarm is not captured, the honeybees may colonize in a location that is inconvenient for humans. If honeybees have already moved into a structure, our beekeepers might be able to assist with their removal. Some beekeepers may charge a nominal fee for the removal of bees from structures.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us safely and responsibly relocate honeybees!

Contacting a Beekeeper

Before reaching out, confirm if the insects are honeybees using our identification guide. We only assist with honeybees; for bumblebees, hornets, and yellowjackets, consider a pest control service.

Swarms Present? Swarms may pause for a few minutes up to 36 hours before finding a permanent home. Once the scouts have located a suitable location, the swarm will depart.

Swarms' Height? Provide the swarm's height above ground, even if high up in a tree.

Structure Occupation? If bees are in a structure, note the entrance's height.

This information helps our beekeepers evaluate and safely manage honeybee removal
