Beginner Bee School will equip new beekeepers with the knowledge to grow and then keep their colonies alive through their first full year and enter spring with confidence.

Embark on your beekeeping journey with our Beginner Bee School, the perfect starting point for those new to the world of bees. Here, you'll discover the basics of bee biology, hive management, and the essentials of seasonal bee care.
By engaging with the broader community and advocating for the importance of bees, we aim to enhance biodiversity and support the vital role bees play in our environment. Together, we work to ensure a flourishing future for bees, beekeepers, and the natural world.
MeckBees recommends students start with 2 colonies to maximize chances of success. Bee School will provide first year students with resources and information to be successful beginners.

2026 Beginner Bee School
100$Tuition is $100 per student including, classes, mentoring. Each student MUST sign up individually and use a unique email address. This is due to a requirement of your NC State Beekeepers membership.Valid for 6 months- Tuition includes 2026 MeckBee Club and NCSBA memberships

- Teaching viedos provided prior to each week's class
