NC Beekeepers Help Bee Colonies Rebuild

Our very own Michael Entrekin, Vice President, Journeyman Beekeeper, has organized Mecklenburg County Beekeepers along with other NC Beekeepers to help re-establish bee colonies in Western North Carolina. After Hurricane Helene devistatated bee colonies in western N.C., Mecklenburg County Beekeepers stepped in to help their neighbors.
"Not just the honey bees, but the bumblebees and all of the rest of the pollinators." says Mr. Entrekin. "They were all lost and there wasn't anything to forage. It's re-establishing equipment, colonies and forage for them. They lost thousands of colonies."
Mr. Entrekin organized Mecklenburg County Beekeepers along with other N.C. beekeepers and decided to pitch in and gather approximately 130 nucleous colonies and transported them and equipment hours up the road to WNC.
