ONLINE MEETING DIRECTIONS for March 19th Meeting
You will be able to connect via GoToMeeting.com from your computer, tablet or smart phone.
While this experimental format does not offer the community of an in-person meeting, it might help us stay in touch and share information during this difficult time. We look forward to your feedback on using this technology platform to share beekeeping info and hope to see everyone in person very soon.
The on-line GoToMeeting space will open at 6:45 so that you can get connected by 7pm. You will be able to see the presentation slides on your computer while listening to Libby. Here is the meeting invitation:

Libby has put together the following GoToMeeting tips and procedures:
- GoToMeeting is a free app that runs on computers, tablets and smartphones.
- You will receive an email invitation for each meeting (this is it). There are access codes that are unique to each meeting. Each email also includes a link to install the app. The link for this meeting is LINK
- For fastest access, install the app ahead of the meeting time.
- A few minutes prior to the meeting time, click the link in the email to launch the GoToMeeting app.
- Or, follow the instructions in the email to dial in on your phone, however you will not be able to see the slides with this approach, you will just hear the presenter talking. Note the specific access code provided in the email.
- Once the app has launched you are connected to your meeting. You will not need to use your camera.
- You will see a box with your initials. In the upper right corner of this box is a snowflake icon for Settings. Clicking Settings you will see a choice of connecting audio via your computer’s speakers (default) or switching to using your phone to hear the presenter. You can dial in from your phone using the access code and audio pin number provided, and listen via the phone while watching via the computer screen.
- If using the computer’s speakers, check your computer’s speaker volume to be sure it’s not turned down too far.
- Now you will be able to see the presenter’s slides and hear the presenter speaking.
- Pro tip: Always leave yourself muted. The presenter will automatically mute everyone, and do not try to un-mute yourself.
- Close the Settings dialog box, and you will see a Chat icon in the upper right corner (looks like a cartoon speech box). Click on this to show the Chat window. Here you can type a question for the presenter to answer, she will answer the questions at the end of the talk. You will see only your own questions and anything the presenter types, you will not see others’ questions. The Chat function may not be available on smartphones. Do not un-mute to ask a question, type it in Chat.
- When the presenter’s slides are showing, move your cursor to the right side of the window. Here you have controls to zoom in on a slide, or take a screen shot of a slide to save it for later.
- At the top of the window is the phrase “Hide Everyone.” Clicking on this gives the whole window over to the presenter’s slides.
