Welcome to the Mecklenburg County Beekeepers

The July meeting was a presentation of a DVD called "Pollen Nation", which is a documentary on commercial beekeepers and how they move their hives for pollination in different areas in the USA. Was a very good DVD.

 Beekeeper of the Month

Johnny Preston

Johnny grew up with bees but never really had any of his own. His wife, Linda, wanted to get into beekeeping and attended the 2007 Bee School and they got their first bees from Bill Bishop. Then Johnny attended the 2008 Bee School and have 2 hives of Russian Honeybees. They seem to be doing well with their bees but are always looking to learn more about their little ladies.
